Guardiola stays on top despite another draw

After an embarrassing defeat at Camp Nou this past week, Manchester City played Southampton in the Premier League with the intention of returning to victory but didn't count with the fact that they are currently going through an extended crisis. However, this didn't prevent them from keeping the lead in the competition. Redmond scored the first goal which prompted the Citizens to get desperate for the equalizer, this goal arrived in the second half through Iheanacho.

Guardiola is still trying to find answers for what's happening, this is a clear case of denial from the manager. He will not make the players deliver a defensive performance, this is clearly the reason they are not finding victory in any competition lately. Guardiola said this after the match: "You can win 10 times and then you are not able to win five times. I have to discover the reason why and I am going to find that. We are together. We spoke about the situation we have. We try to go up."

"Mistakes are not the reason - not Kolarov's own goal at Spurs or missed penalties," he said. "There is something about how you react in situations. We had problems creating our build-up. There is a difference between the first and second half. Unfortunately, we could not win."
