Paris St-Germain defeated Brest 3-0, thanks to a double from Achraf Hakimi and a late goal from Desire Doue, to reclaim the top spot in Ligue 1. Hakimi grabbed the end of a lofted through pass from Vitinha to open the scoring with his first goal of the season. Before halftime, the full-back scored from a close angle inside the box to double his and his team's score. After a VAR review, Brest was given a penalty for handball after the interval, but Romain del Castillo blazed the spot-kick over the bar, cutting the deficit in half.
After bouncing back from a hamstring injury, Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele made his league debut after being substituted off the bench. He also blasted over from the edge of the area, almost marking his comeback with a goal. With the final kick of the game, Doue fired home from within the box after smashing the post in stoppage. On Wednesday, PSG will make its Ligue 1 comeback when they visit Lorient.
