It has been a sweet year for Croatian playmaker Alen Halilovic, he has managed to save Sporting Gijon from relegation during a very difficult year of his loan fro Barcelona. He has also been called-up to play with Croatia in the upcoming European Championship next summer in France, his life is looking up and all he needs now is some peace of mind in regards of where he is going to continue his progression as a professional player.
The sights are set on Valencia CF, who are currently really pushing Barcelona for a definitive transfer, but the Catalan club is reluctant to let him go. They would be more open to another loan because they know how valuable he can become in the future, it's clear that he still doesn't have a secured spot in the major squad with Luis Enrique, that's why another loan would be in the cards for him this summer. Naturally, moving to a bigger club with different ambitions is the more logical thing to do.
Talking to Tportal, the player said: "There is no agreement yet with Valencia, but negotiations are ongoing. We are waiting to hear from Barcelona now. I would like to stay with Barcelona and fight for my chance, but I would be open to it if they advise me to find another club. Barcelona still plan with me for the future and want to have a buy-back option if they sell me. I am pleased that I have attracted interest from other clubs with my performances this season."
