Mario Hermoso's days as an Atletico Madrid player seems to be numbered. According to press, both club and player cannot agree on a possible renewal.
His departure as a free agent in the summer is taken for granted by his current club. He has already been linked with Inter Milan and Juventus, but according press there are no open talks with either of these clubs.
Press reported that Mario Hermoso and Atletico had discussed his contract, which expires in June 2024, but had failed to reach an agreement. The sources noted that contacts intensified in June 2023, but without success.
Mario Hermoso has spent five seasons with Simeone's side. With the exception of the first, in all the others he has played more than 30 games. In total, in those 165 games, the Spaniard has scored ten goals and provided four assists.
