In Bayern Munich's recent history, there are very few players who have the love and support from all the fans and even historic club figures like Bastian Schweinsteiger. It's only normal that everybody who loves the club wants to see him succeed anywhere he goes, it's also natural they react in a negative way when they feel their idol is being treated unfairly. For a lot of people, Manchester United and Jose Mourinho have disrespected him in many ways.
Club board member Uli Hoeness is feeling very angry towards United, he wants Bastian to take all the money he can grab from the club and doesn't care about the club's financial situation. For Hoeness, Schweinsteiger needs to make a statement against this unforgivable treatment as he told ESPN that: "If I were him, I would make the people in Manchester pay until his last day.
"That's what this club [United] deserves for what they've done to him. They should be punished. From what I have heard, Basti's on his way out of football," he said. "I know him well and I doubt he's still got the fire left in him for one final major challenge. After such a brilliant career, a player like him shouldn't see out his career in a place like America. For me, America simply isn't an alternative for a player of his caliber."
