Hoffenheim squashes Augsburg

Florian Grillitsch scored twice for Hoffenheim, which was a proud moment for his team. By squashing Augsburg 3-1 on Monday, it terminated a seven-game winless run in the Bundesliga. Hoffenheim started the season efficiently. He defeated champion Bayern Munich in September. But, he had not won a Bundesliga game since. Though, he displayed a strong showing in the Europa League. It was after coronavirus cases subsided that many crucial players for October and November.

Grillitsch gave Hoffenheim the lead in the 17th minute. He handed over with a header at the far post off a cross from his Christoph Baumgartner, fellow Austrian. This made him cap a penetrating team move.

Daniel Caligiuri, Augsburg winger answered with a headed goal of his own 14 minutes later. Grillitsch needed merely 30 seconds of the second half to score again
