One of the most controversial situations in Argentine football is without a doubt the Maxi Lopez/Mauro Icardi problem. A few years ago, Maxi introduced Mauro to his wife Wanda Nara, they young player started courting the mother of Maxi's children and broke up their marriage. Today, Mauro and Wanda are going on three years strong and left Maxi completely out of the picture, this was seen as a complete betrayal by Argentine legend Diego Maradona who labeled Icardi as a traitor.
The Inter star responded strongly by saying this to Sky Sport Italia: "He was a great player, but outside of football I can't respond to anything. I think he's come across badly as he did last year, and an interview like that has nothing to do with peace. These are tasteless words, it already happened in the friendly match Javier Zanetti organized. I can't say anything about someone who isn't an example for anyone."
It's still unclear if Diego Maradona will ever respond to Mauro, all we can say is that up until now, no Argentina national team manager has called him up to represent his country. He is regarded as a problematic player and yet he is considered one of Serie A's greatest players right now. His wife Wanda doesn't regret doing what she did, they are happy and don't care about criticism.
