As the team's skipper for FC Barcelona, Andres Iniesta is arguably one of the best midfielders in the world. The arrivals of players who can perform in the same position as he can are really good news for FC Barcelona. Both Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes will be able to learn from the very best in this position, once Xavi Hernandez left it was Iniesta the one who took command of the Catalan midfield and he has done it with a fantastic adaptation.
Talking to Marca, Iniesta said: "Today it would cost me to say that I am concerned because I think that competition is very healthy and very positive for the team to reach its objectives. I still have the enthusiasm and the desire to remain important to my club. And I'm sure we all think the same, to contribute with our work, our quality, our desire to be part of the team and continue to make big things happen this season."
The midfielder is also very excited for being able to play alongside talented players in that position such as Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes: "They have a common denominator. They are young players with the enthusiasm to play for a team like Barcelona, the ideal place to continue to grow."
