At the San Siro on Tuesday, Inter defeated Feyenoord 2-1 in the second leg of their last-16 match, securing a 4-1 aggregate victory and sending them to the Champions League quarterfinals. The Italian team had a 2-0 advantage from the away leg going into this match, and even though they didn't have to produce many chances, they seemed to have the match over after eight minutes. Three minutes before halftime, Jakub Moder's penalty put Inter back in the game after Marcus Thuram's incredible solo strike put them ahead.
Six minutes into the second half, Hakan Calhanoglu gave the home team another lead with a penalty kick of his own, and from there, it was comfortable for Inter. Thuram also struck the bar five minutes later, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan squandered an opportunity from well inside the box on sixty-five minutes. However, despite such attempts, neither team posed any significant threats as the game came to a close.
