Inter defeated lowly Venezia 1-0

At the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, Inter defeated lowly Venezia 1-0, with Matteo Darmian scoring the lone goal to move them up to second place in the Serie A standings. As a consequence, Simone Inzaghi's team won their sixth straight away league game and, for the first time in the club's history, kept a clean sheet in each of those games.

In the 16th minute, Inter broke the tie when Darmian tucked away the rebound after Filip Stankovic had saved Lautaro Martinez's superb touch and volley. Mehdi Taremi fired a shot just wide, and Martinez kept up his danger in the first half, but the Venezia custodian stopped an attempt nine minutes before halftime. Shortly after the half, though, Venezia almost tied the score through Issa Doumbia, but Yann Sommer blocked the unmarked Italian's attempt.
