After losing 3-1 to Napoli recently, Inter Milan bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Fiorentina at the San Siro. With two goals from Hakan Calhanoglu and one from Petar Sucic, Inter moved up to third place in Serie A. They presently trail Roma and the defending champions by three points. Both teams started the first half quietly. But just before halftime, David De Gea of Fiorentina was put to the test by Federico Dimarco and Alessandro Bastoni of Inter. The score was tied at halftime in spite of these efforts.
In the second half, Inter stepped up their onslaught. Lautaro Martinez passed, and Dimarco wasted a chance. But in the 66th minute, Calhanoglu broke the tie with a pinpoint effort from outside the box, leaving De Gea defenceless. Soon after, Sucic calmly finished past De Gea after deftly navigating past Pietro Comuzzo to double Inter's lead. Inter's control in the game was further cemented with this goal.
