With goals from Marko Arnautovic, Lautaro Martinez, and Yann Aurel Bisseck, Inter Milan easily defeated Cagliari 3-1 at home on Saturday to maintain their lead in Serie A. With six matches remaining, Inter leads second-place Napoli by six points. Napoli will visit lowly Empoli on Monday.
After 13 minutes, Arnautovic gave the home team the lead with a close-range strike. Roberto Piccoli faced Inter keeper Yann Sommer one-on-one and had the opportunity to tie the score for Cagliari. But the Swiss goalie responded quickly, deflecting the attempt. In the 26th minute, Martinez increased Inter's advantage by timing a perfectly weighted ball to go past Cagliari's defenders and chipping keeper Elia Caprile, who appeared to pause too long before hurrying out.
