Inter beat Hellas Verona 1-0 at the San Siro, capping off the 18th day of Serie A action on Saturday.
Martinez opened the score after only three minutes, picking up the ball within the box and firing it toward the far left corner for his ninth league goal of the season. Martinez added a second goal in the 63rd minute, slipping it past goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo, but it was ruled that he had fouled Pawel Dawidowicz in the build-up, and therefore the goal was not permitted.
After the win, Inter and third-place Juventus remain tied on points. Additionally, both teams are now one point off the 2nd spot in Serie A.
