Inter Milan will reportedly dip back into the market

Palacios' impending departure has made room for a new defender, according to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews. Tomas Palacios is almost ready to sign a season-long loan with a buyout option with Santos.

In the meantime, the team is searching the market for defensive additions to strengthen Cristian Chivu's defence. Benjamin Pavard will probably remain with the Nerazzurri. However, Inter needs to add another centre-back to fill the defensive void left by Palacios' departure. Yusuf Akcicek, a Fenerbahce youngster, is apparently Inter's top aim. Negotiations are in progress with the Turkish giants. Although their initial offer of €16 million was turned down, Chivu's team intends to quicken talks in the days ahead. Akcicek, who is regarded as one of the best players in European football, would be a huge coup for the future.
