Inter are widening their search for defensive reinforcements, with John Stones emerging as a surprising addition to their shortlist. While negotiations continue for Trevoh Chalobah, also pursued by Como, the Nerazzurri are evaluating Stones after the England international was offered to the club as a free agent, according to press. The 30‑year‑old is seeking a fresh challenge following his departure from Manchester City, where he spent a decade and became a cornerstone of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Stones made 295 appearances for City, contributing 19 goals and nine assists, and played a pivotal role in their 2023 Champions League triumph. Although talks with Inter are not yet advanced, his profile has reached the club’s decision‑makers, who will assess whether to move forward in the coming weeks. With his experience, versatility and availability on a free transfer, Stones represents an intriguing market opportunity for the Serie A champions.
