After nine years at Real Madrid, Isco left the 'Merengues' in the summer of 2022, at the end of his contract, and signed for Sevilla. After 19 appearances for the Andalusian side, the Spanish international remained in the city but switched clubs to join Real Betis.
In an interview with Arabic newspaper 'Koora', the 31-year-old revealed that he regrets not having left the Spanish capital years earlier, at the start of his decline.
"I've had some difficult times in recent years, but I've never given up. Real Madrid have been the most important team in my career and I'll always respect the club. Maybe I should have left longer ago, but I've learned from the experience. Now I've worked physically and mentally to come back stronger. I feel good on the pitch," said the midfielder.
