Ismael Bennacer injury update

Bologna and the Rossoneri are scheduled to play in Serie A on Saturday at 19:45 GMT. While Mattia Caldara, Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu, and Tommaso Pobega are all out with injuries, Samuel Chukwueze is still competing in the AFCON competition. With Algeria eliminated early, there was hope that Bennacer would be allowed to play after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

He has, however, been diagnosed with a muscle injury, as was to be expected. Even if it's not a major one, it's enough to keep the midfield player out of this weekend's Serie A game. Stefan Posch is suspended for Bologna, while Adama Soumaoro and Alexis Saelemaekers should be back on the bench at the very least. Due to a thigh strain, Dan Ndoye remains on the treatment table.
