Portugal woke up digesting the fact that they are already out of the World Cup. A goal from En-Nesyri was enough for Morocco to reach the semi-finals and put an end to the Portuguese dream.
Former Barcelona midfielder Figo could not contain his anger on seeing his country eliminated: "It is impossible to win a World Cup with 'CR7' on the bench," he said to 'Ole'.
Figo believes Fernando Santos was wrong to leave him out of his plans for the quarter-final, which he did in the previous match against Switzerland: "Beat Switzerland? Excellent! But can you do that in every match? No."
For him, Fernando Santos is to blame for Portugal's elimination: "Leaving Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench was a mistake, this defeat is the coach's responsibility," he concluded.
