It’s already been a very busy summer for Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid has had an extremely busy summer, at least in terms of player departures. Six players have already left the team, the most recent being Alvaro Morata (who is expected to sign with AC Milan soon), and these departures should allow club officials to start spending heavily. Robin Le Normand will soon sign with Real Sociedad, and additional moves for David Hancko and Mikel Merino are in the works. An attacker is also needed to replace Memphis Depay and Morata, and a surprising name has emerged as a strong contender to fill those positions.

Bild (via MD) reports that Atleti are favourites to sign Dani Olmo, who is expected to leave RB Leipzig this summer. Olmo, a three-goal Euro 2024 star, has been strongly linked with both Barcelona and Manchester City in recent weeks, but it looks like Atletico Madrid is in second place.
