Ex-Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has lavished praise on Arsenal’s £105 million signing Declan Rice, calling him “one of the most complete midfielders there is” and a pivotal part of Mikel Arteta’s side.
Speaking to Mirror Football, Wilshere highlighted Rice’s versatility, noting he can play as a six, eight, or ten—effectively doing everything in midfield.
Wilshere also spotlighted the blossoming partnership between Rice and Nottingham Forest’s rising star Elliot Anderson, who is reportedly on Arsenal’s radar. Rice, initially signed as a defensive midfielder, has evolved prolifically, becoming a dead-ball specialist and Arsenal’s tactical linchpin. His consistency and influence are considered central to the team’s style and success.
Former forward Alan Smith echoed these sentiments, stating that replacing Rice would be nearly impossible should he face injury.
