After the victory, James was named the MVP for that match and he spoke to the press to let them know that he is always available to play, even f he is crippled. The player wen't through some tough moments with Real Madrid this season, playing for Colombia takes off some of this pressure and confirms him as one of the best players in the world.
James told the press after the match: "Here, for Colombia, I will play until I am crippled. Here I always want to play, and I am happy because I always want to help, and today I was able to. [Paraguay] played really well. We put in a good shift, especially when they had the better of the game. Colombia had some good quality and I think we all had an excellent game."
Pekerman said: "We realize that this injury could reoccur. He'll need surgery. Real Madrid has been informed. James Rodriguez was never ruled out of the game. His recovery was good."
