Michel Platini has done a great job at putting every government agency against him during the past year or so, but that doesn't take away his central role in organizing the upcoming European Championship in France this summer. It's because of that reason that tournament president Jaques Lambert has his full support on the former UEFa President and expects him to show at the tournament.
Talking to beIN Sports, Lambert confessed that he hope Platini can at least attend some games. "We always work together. Of course, at the moment, he is prevented from fully performing his functions, but he is not prevented from continuing to focus every day on how we are preparing for the tournament. Whether Michel will return to the UEFA presidency and resume his responsibilities [remains to be seen]. If that is not the case, he will be a guest of the French federation and myself for the Euros, so he will be there."
The next European Championship will be celebrated this June in France, the first match will be the host France against Romania on June 10th and from then on the rest of the games will be played. The tournament is set to last a full month as usual and France is among the favorite countries to lift the trophy by the end of the contest. Other favorite squads are England, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Italy.
