The negotiations to extend the contract of the USMNT mainstay, which expires in June of next year, are stalled, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. In particular, the commissions to his entourage have presented some challenges for the brass.

In order to keep McKennie from leaving Bosman, Juventus will look for a solution on the market, which is how the idea of a trade with Roma including Cristante came about. The former, meanwhile, isn't in a hurry to leave Turin despite his position. He would be eager to finish the last year of his contract and make a decision on his future the following summer, even if the negotiations continued to drag on. On the other hand, Giallorossi's planned operation was still in its early stages. Although they would have preferred to have included other players, the capital club likes the Old Lady outcast.
