Juventus defender Daniele Rugani could earn himself a new contract

Given that he is now anticipated to play a crucial part at the back, Juventus defender Daniele Rugani may be able to secure a new contract. After his successes at Empoli, the 31-year-old joined the team in the summer of 2015, making him the outfielder with the longest tenure. He has been with the team since 2013. The Dutch powerhouse decided against keeping the defender on a permanent basis after their former manager, Francesco Farioli, who was his primary sponsor at the club, left. The defender had spent the previous season on loan with Ajax.

Last summer, Rugani returned to Juventus, giving the defence much-needed depth, particularly after Renato Veiga left. The Italian centre-back stayed in the dugout for the first few weeks of the season, but he was given a chance when Gleison Bremer's injury setback occurred.
