Juventus has been tracking Mattia Zaccagni for several months

The Lazio midfielder's current deal in Rome expires after one season, and it was generally anticipated that he would leave at that time. Zaccagni's unwillingness to extend his contract gave Juventus confidence that they could keep him on staff, even if Lazio indicated a want to keep him. Since Juventus is known for being a top choice for many Italian players, they had high hopes for signing Zaccagni when his contract ran out.

However, Zaccagni has started discussions with Lazio and seems likely to stay with the team, which has dealt Juventus a serious blow in their pursuit of him. Lazio is prepared to go to any lengths to keep Zaccagni on staff because Felipe Anderson is already expected to leave at the conclusion of the season. Juventus has suffered a blow.
