Juventus tied Serie A leaders Napoli with a 1-0 victory against 10-man Lazio, while AC Milan triumphed over Udinese by the same score despite playing with 10 men for more than an hour. Five minutes from time, Mario Gila's own goal earned Juve the victory in Turin. Lazio were dealt a shattering blow after Alessio Romagnoli's 24th-minute red card. Romagnoli was given a straight red card for bringing down Pierre Kalulu as he was sprinting towards goal while Thiago Motta's Juventus was dominating the game.
However, Juve's lackluster onslaught was easily repelled by Lazio, who had to see Mario Gila prodding Juan Cabal's low cross into his own net to give away the three points. In the fifth minute, Douglas Luiz punched Patric, an offense that the VAR authorities did not appear to detect, and Lazio was enraged.
