With a pivotal brace in his team's gruelling 4-2 Serie A victory against struggling Sampdoria, Adrien Rabiot ensured Juventus kept up their push for European football. In the first half, France midfielder Rabiot gave Juve a 2-0 lead with a header before Samp startled the home fans by tying the score with two quick goals from Tommaso Augello and Filip Djuricic. In the 64th minute, Rabiot gave Juve the lead once again.
Youngster Matias Soule scored with a nod in stoppage time to improve the score against Samp, who are at the bottom and 12 points from being in the clear. Rabiot nearly left Juventus in the summer, but he has since established himself as an important member of Massimiliano Allegri's squad. With his double, Rabiot has now scored seven league goals, bringing the Turin giants to within four points of the European spots.
