Juventus take advantage of Atalanta’s draw to climb up

Juventus climbed closer to Serie A's Champions League spot with the 2-0 triumph over Cagliari and took advantage of Atalanta's goalless draw at Genoa while Salernitana's trip to Udinese was called off because of a surge in coronavirus cases. Juve first went ahead in the first half with Moise Kean’s header later Federico Bernardeschi put the game out of reach for Cagliari with a second goal at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus start to the season has been quite shaky but they moved within our points of fourth place in Italy's top flight, and challenge Atalanta for the spot. Massimiliano Allegri's side ends the year on a high note with a fourth win in five matches after Old Lady had slipped earlier. The loss pile on more bad news for Cagliari who has not posted a win since mid-October and might not break the pattern in 2021.
