Juventus’s 2-0 win over Empoli

After Dusan Vlahovic had a terrible first-half penalty saved by debutant Etrit Berisha, Danilo gave the visitors the lead in the 24th minute, and Federico Chiesa secured the win late in the second half. The victory moves Juventus up to third place in the standings, two points behind Inter and AC Milan, while Empoli has now gone three league games without scoring this year after losing to Serie B Cittadella in the Coppa Italia semifinals.

In the seventh minute, Vlahovic had the first shot that was on goal, but Berisha was able to save it at the near post on the second try. A few seconds later, Jacopo Fazzini had a shot go high and wide at the opposite end. In the 10th minute, Danilo appeared to have given his team the lead when he headed in from close range, but he was called for a penalty for obstructing the custodian as Empoli tried to clear a corner.
