Kane and Muller score as Bayern Munich defeats Freiburg, 2-0

Bayern Munich defeated Freiburg 2-0 in the Bundesliga, with Harry Kane converting a penalty and Thomas Muller scoring in his club record 710th appearance. Muller replaced new acquisition Michael Olise in the 59th minute, breaking a tie with goalkeeping legend Sepp Maier for 709 career games in all competitions for Bayern.

Muller scored in the 78th minute after controlling Serge Gnabry's cross with one touch, taking the ball away from Freiburg's Maximilian Eggestein, and slamming it past goalkeeper Florian Muller. Muller's goal was his 150th in the Bundesliga, and he has now scored in 16 straight German top-tier seasons dating back to 2009-10. The 34-year-old attacker was making a club record for the second time in as many games, having played his 474th Bundesliga game for Bayern last week. That also ended the tie with Maier. Earlier, Kane's first Bundesliga goal of the season put Bayern ahead from the penalty spot.
