Karela United's MTN FA Cup run continues despite Premier League struggles

Karela United are on a roll in the MTN FA Cup, despite their struggles in the Ghana Premier League. The Tamale-based side currently sits 15th in the League, just one point above the relegation zone. However, their form in the MTN FA Cup has been impressive.

Striker Najib Fuseini has been instrumental in their success, scoring four goals in the FA Cup and sitting second in the top scorers chart. He trails Ibrahim Alhassan of Debibi United, who leads the chart with five goals. Fuseini will lead the lines when Karela United takes on Golden Kick on Sunday.

Karela United has already knocked out fellow Premier League side Young Apostles and TF Exponential in the Round of 32. Their next challenge comes in the form of Access Bank Division One League side Golden Kick in Sunday's quarterfinal clash.

Golden Kick made headlines after eliminating Accra Hearts of Oak in the Round of 16, holding the record holders to a goalless draw before winning on penalties. They kicked off their campaign with victories over Danbort FC and Kotoku Royals.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
