Kim Minjae opens up about ongoing injury struggles

For months, Kim Minjae has played through pain, with the Bayern Munich defender battling a persistent Achilles tendon problem.

Although the South Korean international has been given occasional breaks, he has often had to push through the discomfort for his team. Most recently, in Bayern's 3-0 win over Mainz, he was substituted at halftime as the pain became unbearable.

In an interview with Korean broadcaster Leestar TV (via TZ), Kim opened up about his ongoing struggles.

"The Achilles tendon issue is still there, but I’m gritting my teeth. Eyes closed, and just pushing through," he said.

While Kim has faced criticism for his performances this season, he refuses to use his Achilles problems as an excuse.

"Mistakes, injuries, or too many games - those might just be excuses. I still need to stay focused. That’s my job. In the end, I should have played better," he said.
