In what can arguably be widely considered as the best match of the quarterfinals for the Euros, Italy is expected to clash against Germany with that undefeated streak against them in every single official competition. The now former international and all-time World Cup goalscorer, Miroslav Klose, wasn't able to defeat the Italians during his time with the national team. He expects the German side to pull it off next Saturday, but he knows it will be difficult this time around.
Because let's face it, Italy is considered the absolute favorite to win the tournament this year after defeating Spain. Klose believes that this Italian side is even more powerful than the one they fell against back in the 2012 Euros' semifinals, he thinks they have improved in every line despite not having any big names on their roster on the attack. Italy can actually be considered the best team as a whole from this tournament, that's thanks to manager Antonio Conte.
He told Kicker: "Italy is even stronger than in 2012. It's an unbelievable team spirit. Even the bench players are celebrating the goals. They are very intense in their build-up play. Everybody knows what is happening and what the others will do. Everything is pre-planned. Their wings are close to the lines, they make the pitch extremely wide to maximize the pitch. They are more efficient. The quality of their defense is breathtaking."
