Back when Ronald Koeman was starting his career as a manager, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was 19 years of age and arrived in the Netherlands from Malmoe to play for Ajax from Amsterdam. Even at that tender age, he was already proving he would become a great player. Ronald Koeman had an idea of how big his talent was, but he certainly didn't expect he would become the incredible striker he is today.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become a trade mark in world football, one of those players who come forth once in a generation. His legend will live on even after he retires, next Sunday Koeman will have to suffer him once again and there is a pretty big chance he will score one or two goals against the Toffies.
Talking to the press, Koeman reminisced about Zlatan's first steps in football: "Already at 19 you saw a fantastic player. He is one of the best players. It’s the last part of his career but he is still motivated and scoring goals. If he looks back then he can be very proud about what he showed and what he was winning. He is the type of football player you like to have in your team. It was nice to work with him. He was young and sometimes difficult for the manager, but I enjoyed working with him."
