Kuba's goal gives Poland their group's second spot

It has been a tough group for all contestants, there weren't any games where one could see an absolute clear favorite throughout the whole Group C matches stage. This Tuesday at Marseille's Velodrome, Poland managed to defeat the Ukraine and tie Germany in points but taking the second spot of Group C due to the goal difference which benefited the Germans. It was a very complicated match for both sides, but Poland had the edge because they already had four units in their pocket.

The first half was frankly uneventful as Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski seems to clearly not be at the top of his game. He struggled a great deal to find the back of the net and combine with his teammates, he did clear a lot of space without the ball but wasn't able to make the impact we are all used to. As of right now, Lewandowski is among the players who we are still waiting to make their appearance in this tournament. But other good players made the difference for Poland, other heroes were present this Tuesday against the Ukraine.

It was during the ninth minute of the second half when Milik's disguised pass was taken by Kuba Blaszczykowski who tricked his way into a shooting position and picked out the far corner with a precise shot. This goal would be more than enough for Poland to get their next round ticket and feel confident to face any other team in the competition regardless of who they are. It will be good news if Lewandowski finally gets to find himself in the round of 16 matches they are to play.
