La Liga: Rayo defeats Mallorca 3-1

Rayo Vallecano put on a good show at home in the Spanish League on Monday. In the match between the promoted side, Rayo Vallecano overpowered Mallorca 3-1 to win their sixth match at home out of seven this season. Sergi Guardiola, Álvaro García, and Óscar Trejo were the three players who etched their names on the scoresheet to hand Vallecano an upper hand and a good lead. Despite Mallorca’s late goal by Abdón Prats, Vallecano never really felt challenged at home.

The hosts have one of the best home records in the league and had remained unbeaten at Vallecas Stadium so far in the season, the only setback on their else wise perfect record was the goalless draw with Celta Vigo two rounds ago. Rayo has climbed ahead of Barcelona into sixth place on the table and Mallorca who was denied a win is in 13th place.
