Las Palmas 2-2 draw with Sevilla

UD Las Palmas has already accrued the season's first point. Luis Carrión's team battled back to draw 2-2 with Sevilla on Friday at the Estadio de Gran Canaria. After falling behind 1-0 and 1-2, the home team had to fight hard to even the score, with McBurnie and Sandro coming up big.

In preparation for UD Las Palmas' debut in the 2024–25 La Liga season, Luis Carrión took cues from the lineup he employed at Anfield against Liverpool just one week before. There were two parts to the first half of the game: before and after the 0-1. After a second wave of Andalusian efforts, Sevilla looked crisper right away, pushing Jasper Cillessen into action three minutes in when he parried a shot from Ocampos. The home team had trouble getting into a rhythm for a while as Sevilla applied pressure and caused confusion in Las Palmas' play.
