Lazio beat Roma

The Biancocelesti were able to win their second derby of the year thanks to a goal from Mattia Zaccagni in the second half. In the Stadio Olimpico, two Roma players—Bryan Cristante and Roger Ibanez—as well as Adam Marusic for Lazio were dismissed from the game. Nuno Santos, Mourinho's assistant, and Marco Ianni, a member of Lazio's staff, were both dismissed in the first half when Mourinho was already serving the second of a two-match suspension.

Sarri lauded Romagnoli after the game, but he also made fun of Roma in an interview with Lazio's official website. Lazio are presently in second place in the Serie A standings, five points ahead of their local rivals who are in fifth. In time for Italy's forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifying matches against England and Malta, Romagnoli will now be a part of Roberto Mancini's squad.
