Lazio secure 2-0 victory over Torino

The Biancocelesti had gained some momentum with victories against Bayern Munich and Cagliari, but after suffering a humiliating 2-1 home loss to Thiago Motta's Bologna, everything appeared to be in jeopardy. Lazio ignored the commotion and went back to work under Maurizio Sarri at Formello. Thanks to their effective strategy, they eventually faced Torino and won 2-0 to take all three points.

Torino had a strong start to the Piedmont capital derby and came close to winning it in the fourth minute when Antonio Sanabria's effort struck the post. Despite applying constant pressure and creating many good opportunities via Sanabria, Nikola Vlasic, and Ivan Ilic, the home team was unable to break the deadlock in the first half. Early in the second half, Lazio were more confident. In the 50th minute, they took a 1-0 lead thanks to a brilliant ball from Luis Alberto that put Matteo Guendouzi in the Torino box.
