Lecce defeated Parma 3-1

Lecce defeated Parma 3-1 on Friday, moving out of the Serie A relegation zone for the first time since early November thanks to two goals from Santiago Pierotti in the second half. The victory moved Marco Giampaolo's club from 18th to 13th position in the 20-team standings after two crushing losses. After Nikola Krstović's goal was disallowed in the 24th minute and Lecce lost to another video-assisted judgement, this time a penalty award that was sent off by Emanuele Valeri, they displayed impressive tenacity.

However, two minutes later, Krstović scored the goal that his efforts had earned, and after sixty-three minutes, his assist enabled Argentina-born striker Pierotti to give the visitors the lead. A second half substitute, Pierotti made sure of all three points — and only Lecce’s second win since mid-December — with a clinching goal in the third minute of stoppage time.
