Lecce scored a 2-1 win over Salernitana

With only three points from their first six games, the newly promoted team found itself at the bottom of the Serie A standings going into this weekend. After a contentious 2-2 tie with Juventus last week, Salernitana's season got off to a somewhat better start and they were optimistic.

With goals from Assan Ceesay and Gabriel Strefezza, Lecce was ultimately able to turn things around and secure all three points. Joan Gonzalez's own goal shortly before the hour mark provided Salernitana with their sole window of chance, but despite having more possession of the ball overall, they were unable to strike. Salernitana will be aiming to bounce back in a crucial game against Sassuolo, while Lecce will be hoping to continue this momentum for their next game against Cremonese, another crucial game in view of a potential relegation struggle.
