Leeds to sign Norway's exciting young goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson
15.07.21 / 08:19
Leeds face stiff competition for Valerenga’s Norway Under-21 goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson.
Leeds are considering a move for Klaesson to replace Kiko Casilla and compete with Illan Meslier for the No 1 spot at Elland Road.
But Klaesson, 20, is also wanted by another unnamed Premier League side and a La Liga outfit.
Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta first spotted Klaesson nearly two years ago after he had just broken through at Valerenga.
Orta has kept tabs on Klaesson’s development and he was recently called up into the full Norway squad for the first time.
He made his senior debut for Valerenga in June 2019 aged 18 and has already made 54 league appearances as he helped the Oslo club to finish third last year in Norway’s Tippeligaen.
