Leicester City extended their fifth successive win over Newcastle as they announce to the world their claim at the Premier League trophy this season. Youri Tielemans’ fine finish placed them ahead of Newcastle on Sunday with just 18 minutes left on the clock. James Maddison had stuck the opening goal for them early in the second half as the game picked up momentum to finish the match with 2-1.
Jamie Vardy though remained off his game throughout the match by drifting to the offside repeatedly even still he assisted Maddison in the opening goal. Andy Carroll put Newcastle back on the map briefly late in the second half but the substitute’s goal could not salvage the game for them. Leicester remains third on the table with a single point gap between them and Liverpool.
