Leverkusen climb to second place with 3-0 Schalke win

The Bundesliga match ended in favor of Bayer Leverkusen with a 3-0 win over Schalke, Leverkusen traveled to second place on the table while Schalke suffered its 26th defeat as their winless run misery continues to haunt them. The win was comfortable for Leverkusen as Schalke let many opportunities slip by, Leverkusen is now one point behind Bayern beating Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund on the table.

Schalke Malick Thiaw’s own goal at the start of the match put Leverkusen ahead early in the game Julian Baumgartlinger later increased the lead by netting in the 67th minutes with a simple header. Goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky added more misery for Schalke denying Steven Skrzybski’s goal and Patrik Schick sealed their victory with the third goal. Newly promoted Stuttgart impressed everyone with a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen, Silas Wamangituka’s double ensured their victory.
