Leverkusen consider signing Hummels

After leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season, it is still unclear what the future holds for Mats Hummels.

That's according to Kicker, who reports that Bayer Leverkusen are considering the 35-year-old as a replacement for Jonathan Tah should the latter leave the club.

Tah is said to be keen on a move to Bayern Munich, but the Bavarians and Leverkusen remain far apart in their valuation of the centre-back.

The former Dortmund man would fit in well with Xabi Alonso's brand of possession football, but his increasing age and lack of pace could make them think twice.

Die Werkself are also said to have their eyes on Riccardo Calafiori (Bologna) and Robin Le Normand (Real Sociedad), but they would likely cost €40 million or more.
