Liverpool are interested in Torino defender Perr Schuurs

Of the teams interested in luring the Dutchman away from Serie A, the Reds are the "frontrunners." The source states that it will cost £43m to hire him. Due to the Reds' defensive struggles this year as well as Joel Matip and Joe Gomez's dismal play, adding fresh talent to the backline may be a smart idea. Schuurs has been in outstanding form for Torino this season, and at only 23, he still has a long career playing at the highest level of football ahead of him. A quality that would undoubtedly fit in well with Liverpool's playing style is the Dutchman's excellent poise on the ball and ease playing out from the back.

Of course, until one of Gomez or Matip is moved, no deal for Schuurs would make sense. Liverpool's backline is already congested, so adding another defender might intensify the struggle for positions.
