The Reds are reportedly keeping an eye on the 19-year-old centre defender, who according to Tropa Tricolour has a €60 million (£52 million) release clause. The youthful left-footed defender has made a name for himself with Sao Paulo and Brazil's U-20 team as one of the region's most intriguing talents. According to the article, Liverpool may now regard Beraldo as a long-term successor for Virgil van Dijk because the defender checks off many of the Reds' desired qualities in a new center-back acquisition.
Liverpool was in fact considering such a player this summer, but the midfield renovation took entire precedence throughout the transfer window, hence no new defender was added. However, if Liverpool can outbid European competition for the defender in January, Beraldo may be an excellent addition for the club. With players like Van Dijk, Joel Matip, and even Joe Gomez all set to be replaced on the trade market, the defence needs some work moving into 2024.
