Liverpool embarrassingly thrashed by Brighton

Brighton beat Liverpool 3-0 at the Amex thanks to a thrilling second-half display, lifting them above their powerless visitors in the Premier League standings.

In the 47th minute, young striker Evan Ferguson forced the Liverpool defense into an error, allowing Brighton to win the ball high up the field. Kaoru Mitoma dashed into the penalty area and slid the ball toward Solomon March, who managed to just steer it into the goal. Six minutes later, March doubled the lead.

March capped a solid performance by setting up Danny Welbeck, who came on as a substitute, with a glancing header from a throw-in. Welbeck lifted the ball over a defender and put it in the back of the net for his first league goal of the year.
