According to reports, Liverpool is one of the bidders that made unsuccessful offers for Torino center-back Perr Schuurs. Tuttosport reports that Torino has rejected a €30 million opening bid from the Merseyside giants for the 23-year-old Dutch centre defender, who the Serie A club values at €40 million. Liverpool allegedly switched their attention to acquiring a central defender after completing the high-profile transfers of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton & Hove Albion and RB Leipzig, respectively, for combined transfer fees of over €100 million.
Joel Matip, Nat Phillips, and Joe Gomez's futures are in doubt, and Jurgen Klopp would undoubtedly be eager to strengthen his team's defence, something Liverpool appeared to be lacking last season. As a result, they are keeping an eye on a number of defenders, including Micky van de Ven and Sporting CP center-back Goncalo Inacio.
