The Reds may have opened the Premier League season with a convincing 9-0 win over Bournemouth, but they still desperately need to add one more player to improve their depth for the remaining of the year. Alex Oxlade’s long-term injury plus additional problems with Thiago, Curtis Jones, and Naby Keita already this season have left Liverpool severely lacking in midfield, leaving the team with little other option but to go back to the transfer market.
Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona has been linked to them, and it has now been discovered that, while they aren't reportedly interested in the Dutchman, they are looking to add a new player and may spend more money this summer by the time the transfer window ends this week. Although there have been linked to a number of players, it is yet unknown whom they will sign.
